Game 82, Knights 5, PawSox 2

The Pawtucket Red Sox have lost 11 of their last 12 games, falling last night to the Charlotte Knights at McCoy 5-2.  The PawSox now find themselves in second place in the I.L North Division, one game behind the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.

Scott Podsednik joined the PawSox on a rehab assignment from Boston.  Podsednik was 0 for 3 with a walk as the pawtucket DH last night.

UP NEXT:  The PawSox hit the road for a short three-game series with the Iron Pigs beginning tonight at 6:35p.m.  Justin Germano (8-4, 2.60 ERA) starts for the PawSox. Pat Misch (5-9, 4.24 ERA) will throw for Lehigh Valley.

Tough loss for the PawSox last night, falling in 11 innings to the Charlotte Knights, 1-0.

The Pawtucket Red Sox snapped its nine game losing streak, beating the Charlotte Knights, 5-1, last night at McCoy.

The PawSox losing streak continues.  It is now nine straight after last night’s 8-0 loss to the Charlotte Knights at McCoy.  The PawSox have now dropped to a tie for first place in the I.L’s North Division.

NOTES- PawSox SS Jose Iglesias returned to the team yesterday after being sidelined since May 29th with lower back soreness.  In his return to the field last night Iglesias went 0 for 5.

To make room on the PawSox roster, pitcher Jeremy Kehrt was sent back to Portland.

The newly acquired Zach Stewart was added to the PawSox roster yesterday.  He came over to the Red Sox in Sunday’s trade that sent Kevin Youkilis to the White Sox.  OF Josh Kroeger was placed on the temporarily inactive list to free up a spot for Stewart.

UP NEXT:  Game two of the series is tonight at 7:05p.m.  Charles Leesman (7-5, 2.16 ERA) starts for the Knights.  Zach Stewart (NR) makes his debut for Pawtucket.

The Pawtucket Red Sox continue their slide, now having lost eight straight, falling to the Louisville Bats, 6-3 last night at McCoy.

NOTES- PawSox RP Mark Prior was placed on the seven-day disabled list retroactive to June 22nd with an oblique strain. Pitcher Will Latimer has been called up from Portland to fill Prior’s spot.

Game 75- Bats 4, PawSox 3 in 13 Innings

The slump continues for the Pawtucket Red Sox as they have now dropped five straight, losing the opener of a four game series with the Louisville Bats, 4-3 in 13 innings, last night at McCoy.

NOTES:  Daniel Bard, who acknowledged before the game that he is returning to the bullpen, gave up the tying run in the seventh last night for his second straight blown save.

Pawtucket made a couple of rosters move yesterday. Ronald Bermudez was placed on the disabled list with a left hamstring strain and while OF J.C. Linares was called up from Portland.  Linares made the best of his 2012 PawSox debut, going 4 for 6 with a double.

The Red Sox also recalled OF Jason Repko and then outrighted him back to Pawtucket.  Repko had been on a rehab assignment with the PawSox.

UP NEXT:  Game two of the series is tonight at 6:05p.m. Sean Gallagher (6-4, 5.04 ERA) gets the call for Louisville. Aaron Cook (3-0, 2.41 ERA) takes the mound for Pawtucket.

Game 74- Chiefs 3, PawSox 1

The Pawtucket Red Sox have now lost four straight, getting swept by the Syracuse Chiefs last night 3-1.

The Pawtucket Red Sox have now lost three straight, surrendering a ninth inning lead in falling to the Syracuse Chiefs, 6-5 in 11 innings last night.   Daniel Bard was charged with giving up the tying runs in the ninth.
